Kat's first egg hunt
Kat got to experience the thrill of looking for bunny poo today. The pictures don't do it justice, but the yard was covered with bright and sparkley Easter Eggs.
Al was on fire, running flat out to collect ALL of the eggs. Hey, I don't blame him, that is what being four is all about. Life and everything in it is all about AL!
Kat figured it out after Miranda led her by the hand to a couple of eggs and told her to pick them up. Okay, the first three or four Miranda handed to her. Then it was follow Al to try and pick up eggs that he missed.
We laughed quite a bit as Kat looked so confused as to what nonsense this was. Really, someone or something scattered lots of little treasures through the yard and she had to go and run to pick them up? Wouldn't it have made more sense for her to look cute and have people hand her treats.

Haha, that is how it was the time we put plastic eggs in the yard for Niecey to pick up when she was about Kat's age. She gave us a "Are you crazy?" look, then she liked it for a bit, then she lost interest and we had to pick up the rest. I think all of this took about 10 minutes, kids are funny!
That's great! We found today that Connor is absolutely obsessed with Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Every time he found an egg with one of those in them, he stopped everything to peel the wrapper and eat it - while all of his cousins were scarfing the rest of the remaining eggs around him.
Funny the things we teach our kids, isn't it. "NO - don't stop and enjoy what you're finding! Keep going! It's the one that ends up with the most eggs that wins!"
And Kat's dress is cute!!!
We thought Isabella was old enough that she wouldn't be interested in an egg hunt this year. We were wrong, apparently it's part of her Easter tradition and she asked us when would it happen.
The idea of an Easter egg hunt was important enough that Caleb volunteered to run the one at Church this year.
Seeing these photos reminds me of how much I miss young children, Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets and of course, the Easter Bunny. Kat is adorable in her Easter dress. Mine girls are in their teens and all of the above are passe. And their Easter "outfits" consist of a nice top and jeans. It's just not the same.
